Rebranding

Media assets update

• Working off of the name
• Making animated assets

Mission statement collaborative finalisation

• Want to focus on more broader side while also make more descriptive/ informative
• Key points
  • Audience (whose it for, ie casual gamers)
  • Events (what we do ie roleplay, board games, LANS)
  • Goal (what we aim for via our events, focusing on the more social aspects of the club)
  • Opportunities (ie skills, connections with other societies and external organisations, equipment)
• Want a refined community
• Use Drawing Circle, Long Board Soc mission statements as influence
  • Generally; who we are, what do you get from joining, and what is there to do and how does that achieve our goal

Events

Documentation/ proposal

• Event proposal bases in the google drive
• Idea to have a digital suggestion box
  • This allows people to bring up suggestions while also making it private/ anonymous
• Brief ideas: Guildhall lans, roleplay days, bake sales etc
• The proposal draft is in the drive and the idea is to have it on the discord so that people can use it as a base

Other Societies

• Robo soc wants to have a collab event
• Games Jam is still in the works
• Game Movie night with FAPS
• Football Soc event is still running but has been postponed
• Geek Trivia is in the works

Possible Events

• Fighting game event
  • Possibly named “Crack Down”
  • Starting off as casual
  • Basically seeing what people like and what’ll stick
  • Try to include the older SMASH titles
  • Possibly work with other fighting ban communities

Money and Equipment

Controllers

• Replacing the sticks on the controllers is more cheaper than buying a new controller
  • New sticks are about $20
• Ask Siva help with it
• Note to also clean our equipment
• Spring cleaning?
• Pro-controllers are useful but also kinda expensive
• A joy-con charger will be useful
• Idea to purchase another switch during a sale
• Idea to get more Xbox controllers, particularly Xbox One
• Reminder to get a bunch of Micro-USBs for the controllers

Stream Set up

• Idea to have spilt/dual audio
• Change from OBS to XSpilt
  • XSpilt looks better and seems to work better
• Crane would help immensely
• Also need to buy headphones for both the stream and VR

VR Set up

• Purchasing our own VR stands would be great so that we don’t have to constantly borrow activates
• Also need to buy headphones for both the VR and the stream

Collaboration with other Unis

• USID has joined with Shopping Xpress
• Macquarie is student led, therefore, we can ask them whenever. Also with Shopping Xpress
• UNSW is with shopping xpress, however, they are currently on hold

Collaboration with other Societies

• Speculation of UTS Esports will be working with HIVE, therefore, until it’s specifically known/noted that are officially working with HIVE we are happy to work with them until then
• A smaller community wants to start a SMASH society and we would like to talk to them

Development of Geek Trivia

• We are waiting on Emma for information on quotes and permissions
• From there we can spilt the costs with the other clubs and distribute the work load
• After this, another meeting with the participating clubs will be formed to see where everyone else is at
  • Ask the clubs to formulate a block of questions for Trivia
• The date is going to be 2^nd August

Sponsors

• Board Geeks seems to be more of a distributor
  • Potentially having a tech professor interested in making and selling board games
• AMD and Zeus are potential sponsors

Lieutenant

• Vote to make Arvy and Lloyd lieutenant
  • Arvy has been keen to help out
  • Amount voting: 5
    • For: 4
    • Against: 0
    • Abstain: 1
  • Arvy and Lloyd is now a lieutenant
